The founder of By Black Academy, Tiras Re’u and the founder of Ebenezer Foundation, Silvanus Ebenezer together with their social responsibility division titles, ‘Funda’ have joined hands to launch a mental health seminar on 18 July in celebration of Mandela Day.
The programme duration is 67 minutes and it starts at 7pm. This programme is free to all and will be held at the Shallcross Trading Center, 9 Everest Street, Shop 16 – 18, Shallcross.
According to the organisers, this is a state of the art venue and has a lecture hall as well as a counselling and coaching center with a coffee and chai shop open to the public.
Re’u said: “All our counselling is offered free to the community and we embark on major community upliftment projects.”
Ebenezer is a celebrated life coach for over two decades speaking locally and internationally. His last presentation was on Mental Wellness at Barloworld and Unilever Logistics during the month of June. Ebenezer said that he has a heart for the people from his childhood hometown and is determined to make a difference in his community.
He said: “We have seen the devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the July Unrest of 2021 and the Flood of 2022 and the negative impact it has had on the community’s well being. People have been struggling to come to terms with the difficulties of life and he sees the need to assist people with their mental health. People are living stressed lives and cannot cope with the problems of the day.”
Re’u said that they want to build a healthy nation and it starts with renewing one’s mind, strengthening our emotions and taking care of mental health.
He said: “The scourge of drug abuse in our communities are tearing families apart and we believe that everyone affected by such need some help and mechanisms to cope. Families are being torn apart by the stresses of society and the ever increasing inflation rates. Divorce is on the increase and parents as well as their children have no mechanisms to deal with the anxiety. Depression is on the rise and people need help in their desperation.”
The programme will present two very simple models, developed by Ebenezer and his efficient research team, that any individual may apply. It will have an immediate impact and you will see the difference.
Ebenezer said: “Invest 67 minutes this Mandela Day and change your life forever. We promise to present more courses that are longer and more in depth but we want to start this initiative on this significant day and we want to partner with you in creating a better life for all. Our partners are all apolitical and therefore have the peoples interest at heart. We are doing this for the benefit of our community and aim to follow up with multiple full – day courses over the next few months.”
To ensure a seat at this programme, one must book in advance by either calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 069-412-8585.
You will receive confirmation of your booking. Any organisations willing to partner with the organisers on such initiatives may also contact them directly.
