Capt Naidoo said the deceased was later identified as a reaction officer from Marshall Security and that he was killed while on his way to work. “Two spent cartridges were found at the scene. All other role players were on scene. Suspects are unknown at this stage,” said Capt. Naidoo. Phoenix Community Policing Forum Chairperson, Umesh Singh, said: “As the CPF, we are saddened about this case of murder that happened on Sunday, at the corner of Fernham and Wetfern. It is extremely sad to note that ruthless criminals don’t have respect for members in uniform. “Thorough investigations will be ongoing and we hope that the perpetrators are brought to book. We pass our condolences to the family during their time of grief”. Singh urges members of the community with information pertaining to the case to contact the CPF on 082-455-8841, and the Phoenix SAPS on 091-508-2307.
