Mothwa Haven’s elderly couple Nora Thorthon, 93, and Sydney Davies, 91, tied the knot on Friday, 23 April in front of their friends, Mothwa staff and family.
The couple had been in a relationship for over a decade after Thorthon fell in love with Davies at a church meeting. Thorton said: “The moment I laid my eyes on him I was in love. When he looked towards me, I was captured.” The lovebirds were engaged for sometime and Davies said they decided to get married recently after his son suggested it. The couple were recently reunited after having spent a few months apart as they lived in different homes.
Speaking to The Springfield Weekly Gazette in an interview for Valentine’s Day, Davies said: “Nora moved to Mothwa first and later I joined her and the love story continued from where it had paused.” The wedding was sponsored by local businesses and an entertainer who entertained the newly weds and guests.
