An unidentified man was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Caneside, Phoenix, a short while ago.
Phoenix Police cordoned off Northside Road where the shooting took place just after 1pm. It is believed that the deceased, dressed in shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops, had been walking along the road when he was shot multiple times on his head and body.
Residents in the area said they heard loud noises which they presumed to be fireworks and only realised that someone had been shot when they heard police sirens in the area. Several spent 9mm cartridges were discovered at the scene.
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage and police are investigating.
