In celebration of Heritage Month, members of the Classic Motorcycle Club of KZN will travel alongside the beautiful 83-year-old Umgeni Steam Railway train on Sunday morning, 26 September, at 8.30am. They will depart from Kloof and stop at Inchanga Station, the half-way point on the train ride, to display their classic and vintage motorcycles.
The Umgeni Steam Railway is a non-profit company run entirely by volunteers who maintain and operate the trains as well as the museum and archives. The organisation is dedicated to preserving the heritage of railways in South Africa and they have in their care a sizeable array of historically significant locomotives, coaches and various goods wagons. It is actively looking for new members and no particular skills are needed. The Umgeni Steam Railway is a proud member of the 1000 Hills Community Tourism Organisation.
