Pledges and support poured in as the Hard Target and Cossack Bikers Club rolled into action, while performer Jeremiah Ramghulam fondly known as “Michael Jackson” glided across the stage at the Heart for a Rose music concert.
The fundraising event, held at the ML Sultan Primary School Hall on Saturday, 22 November, was a resounding success as the community rallied behind two-year-old Hannah Rose, who needs life-saving heart treatment.
Despite the sweltering heat, supporters gathered for the youth-driven concert organised by the ML Sultan Educator Assistants under the mentorship of principal Donna Iyer. The initiative aims to assist little Hannah, who has been diagnosed with ALCAPA (Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery). The event also received support from Victory Chapel.

Iyer told the Ladysmith Herald that the response from the community was overwhelming. “I thank each and every person who made a pledge or purchased a ticket to support this music concert,” she said.
More than R40 000 has already been raised through pledges and ticket sales, and donations are still welcome as Hannah continues to require specialised medical care.
The funds raised will help Hannah’s family with the costs of her oxygen treatments and anti-heart failure medication, for which they urgently need continued support.
