Allegations of rape and drugging have surfaced after a 14-year-old girl was found dumped on a footpath in Zwelisha on Sunday, 19 January.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to the area after the teenager was discovered by a passerby.
RUSA spokesperson, Prem Balram, said: “On arrival, reaction officers attempted to interview the teenager, but she was incoherent. The individual who found her informed officers that the girl stated she had been drugged and raped before being dumped.”

Balram added: “The minor was transported to a medical facility for assessment.”
Balram expressed concern that violent crimes against women and children continue unabated in the community. “Despite awareness campaigns to empower community members and curb such violence, these horrific deeds do not cease. We urge residents to report perpetrators of these crimes so they can be brought to justice.”
