Get ready to rumble Chatsworth Boxing Academy hosts exciting tournament

The Chatsworth Boxing Academy is proud to announce its upcoming boxing tournament, featuring its talented members across various weight classes, from bantam weight to heavy weight.

This exciting boxing event on Friday, 8 August from 6pm at the Nelson Mandela Community Youth Centre is open to the public to attend free of charge, making it an unmissable experience for boxing enthusiasts and families alike.

Derek Vijiam, a senior coach at the academy, said that the tournament is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together to support local talent.

“The tournament promises to showcase the skills and determination of the academy’s boxers, who have been training hard to perfect their craft. With a range of weight classes represented, spectators can expect to see a diverse range of fighting styles and techniques on display.

“In celebration of the start of Women’s Month, the academy is highlighting the achievements of its female boxers, who make up a significant part of the academy’s membership. These talented women have been breaking down barriers and pushing boundaries in the sport, and their participation in the tournament is a testament to their dedication and perseverance. The boxing tournament is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and support local talent. With its free admission, the event is accessible to everyone, making it an excellent outing for families, boxing fans, and anyone looking for an exciting and inspiring experience,” he said.
