Repairs at Ezakheni Plaza are complete and tenants have already unpacked and stocked up their stores in preparation for the grand re-opening on Friday, 18 November. Ezakheni Plaza management and officials from McCormick Property Development have been working around the clock and keeping to schedule to make sure that the Plaza is ready to open its doors to the public.
It has not been an easy journey for the plaza since July 2021 when close to 30 businesses within the centre were completely destroyed during the devastating looting and Veena Sanker, centre manager, said that the Ezakheni Plaza team is excited to welcome back residents. Sanker said: “It has been such an emotional journey. To witness the final progress of repairs on the once destroyed property has given hope, not only to staff and management at Ezakheni Plaza, but to residents within the community.” Sanker said that the Plaza now needs the support of residents to turn a once successful plaza into something better. “As much as the devastating looting has affected us all, we all need to look past it and work together to make the plaza a great place to be, once again.” The grand re-opening is set to be one of the much-awaited events of the year with lots of entertainment and a free gift to lucky attendees.
