Two men were shot dead in an apparent execution-style attack near the Hare Krishna robots on the evening of Saturday, 18 April.
According to Amawele Emergency Services, paramedics were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9 pm. On arrival, medics found a tow truck parked at the entrance to a construction company, with two men believed to be in their 30’s seated in the front.
Both victims, described as Indian males, were assessed by paramedics but showed no signs of life. They were declared dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel indicated that the nature of the injuries suggested an execution-style killing.
Metro Police and SAPS were in attendance, and an alleged double murder case has been opened. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding possible suspects or a motive.
Family members of the deceased were present at the scene and several individuals were treated for shock by medics and later discharged.
