Croftdene’s own professional wrestler, Joshua “The Bull” Chetty, is preparing to take centre stage at the Randfontein Goue Fees in Johannesburg, where he will compete in WAWSA’s highly anticipated pay-per-view event, Guts and Glory, on Saturday, 28 February. The event will be recorded and broadcast on national television, marking a major milestone in Chetty’s wrestling career.
The Randfontein Goue Fees is set to host some of South Africa’s top wrestling talent, with Guts and Glory promising high-intensity match-ups and an electrifying atmosphere. For Chetty, the event holds added significance as it marks the return of professional wrestling to the festival circuit following the COVID-19 pandemic. This period brought live sporting entertainment to a standstill.
Speaking on the resurgence of the competition, Chetty said: “This is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. We haven’t wrestled at this festival since the pandemic, and now to be back on a platform like this, with the best of the best in the country, is incredibly exciting.”

As a representative of Croftdene, Chetty said stepping into the ring on a national platform is not only a personal achievement but a proud moment for his community. He hopes his participation will inspire young people who dream of making it in sport or entertainment, showing them that dedication and perseverance can open doors to opportunities beyond their neighbourhoods.
The Guts and Glory event is expected to draw large crowds, both in person and through its pay-per-view broadcast, as wrestling fans across the country tune in to witness the action.
For Chetty, however, the thrill of the sport goes beyond titles and results. He says the energy of the crowd, the roar of the audience and the shared experience between wrestlers and fans are what truly drive him.
“Whether I win or lose, it’s the excitement and the atmosphere that I live for. Being in that ring, feeling the crowd and giving it everything, that’s what wrestling is all about, ” he said.
As the countdown to the competition begins, all eyes will be on the Croftdene wrestler as he prepares to test his strength, skill, and determination on one of the country’s biggest wrestling stages, carrying both his own ambitions and the pride of his community.
