Several passengers in a blue Toyota Hiace taxi were injured after it overturned during a crashed at a housing complex in Cornubia near Ottawa, on Sunday morning.
Residents contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) at approximately 9.04am requesting assistance after they heard the crash and found the taxi lying on its side. “On arrival several passengers from the mini-bus taxi were being treated for their injuries by a private ambulance service. According to witnesses, the taxi was
T-boned by a white Mazda Sting that failed to halt at a stop sign,” said Rusa boss, Prem Balram.
“With pupils returning to school, the roads are going to be busy and traffic is bound to be hectic. We urge all motorists and transport providers to be cautious and adhere to the rules of the roads as the lives of passengers are at stake,” Balram added.
