Community ‘Shares their Treasure’ with the RHF

Serving in the community for 16 years, chairlady and founder of The Robin Hood Foundation (RHF), Cindy Norcott and the team have seen the truth in the saying ‘one man’s junk is another man’s treasure’, as over the years they have been instrumental in distributing hundreds of the thousands of pre-loved clothing and food hampers into the communities of greater Durban and surrounds.

In the month of February, RHF launched their ‘Share your Treasure’ campaign – a campaign appealing to our community to go through their homes and donate any pre-loved clothing, linen, accessories, shoes, books, etc. To date, RHF have received over 60 000 treasures from the public, businesses and schools which has enabled them to pack and distribute over 1500 Robinhood bags for the GOGO’s and children – which were bursting with  “treasures” as well as send out over 5000 food hampers and meals to feed families, an incredible help in the communities they served.

“We have been simply blown away by the wonderful support from all the amazing people who got involved! Our storage units were bursting with donations from local individuals and companies all wanting to make a difference. Our most heartfelt thanks goes out to all who got involved as we have been able to bless over 2000 families in need in February alone, and we would love our community’s help to do it again in March,” says Cindy Norcott.
