Husband and wife, Dr Gerd and Pastor Sonja Luus, founders of Raphah Ministries. Pastor Luus has re-launched her charity initiatives

Pastor Sonja Luus, founder of the Phenomenal Women 4 Christ Ministries, or better known for her initiative called “The Invisible Phenomenal Women Community Awards” which acknowledges women in the community for what they do in their “invisibility”, has re-launched her charity initiatives with a brand-new project called the Charity Queen Boutique.

Pastor Luus has been absent from the limelight and public eyes for the past five years, although she has still been assisting the community during this time on a low-key basis, mainly due to poor health and a near-death health ailment. The Charity Queen Boutique is a new initiative under the covering of her ministry and will focus on raising funds for future community projects under the wings of her ministry like community awards, new and upcoming community projects and much more, aimed at women empowerment, healing and upliftment.

“The aim will also be to assist other worthy charitable causes in the community that also focus on women, in the long run,” said Pastor Luus. The Charity Queen Boutique will operate on the same basis as any other charity shop, but with a different focus. “Stock will consist of good quality items donated by the public and businesses alike, to be sold to the public as a fundraising initiative. It will be a shop for charity causes and an upmarket-like environment. A variety of new and pre-loved items will be available, like clothing, handbags, jewellery, gifts, homeware, baby and children’s items, arts and crafts and even some homemade bakes and eats,” said Pastor Luus.

The other aim of the shop is to give crafters and home industry producers a platform to showcase and sell their handcrafts or handmade items of which the shop will earn a small commission. Any interested parties can contact Pastor Luus through the shop’s inbox on Facebook or via email at charity.queen@absamail.co.za as the shop – at time of print – does not have a dedicated cellphone, cell number or WhatsApp number as yet.

The public is hereby invited to support the shop via donations, sponsorships and financial contributions, but also to support the fundraising initiative by visiting and purchasing good quality products for a worthy cause. The shop is being set up on the premises of Raphah Ministries, situated at 9 Van Der Bijl Street, Newcastle (Iscor south works and old commando camp). It is a safe shopping environment in a fenced-off area and entrance is only allowed for visitors and customers.

Raphah Ministries is also in the process of upgrading the outdoor play area for kids and setting up an indoor play area – making your shopping experience to the Charity Queen Boutique an enjoyable one, with a peaceful mind that your kids are having fun of their own.

A coffee shop will be added soon – next door to the charity shop – giving visitors/clients a one-stop experience. All funds raised in every one of these new projects will be to the benefit of the public to support outreach initiatives, feeding schemes and community services. For more information, message the Charity Queen Boutique’s Facebook page or WhatsApp Raphah Ministries on 034-315-2637, starting the chat with “Charity Queen”.
