Crocworld Conservation Centre will on Monday, 16 Dcember celebrate the centre’s most famous resident crocodile, Henry.
Henry is turning 124 years old—and everyone is invited to be part of the festivities. Believed to be the oldest known Nile crocodile in captivity, Hendry has been a resident at Crocworld since1985.
To mark this historic milestone, Crocworld will be offering free cupcakes to visitors – available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This special occasion also offers a chance to meet one of Henry’s oldest friends, Colgate, 90 years old, the second-largest crocodile at the centre and another local celebrity in his own right.
In celebration of Henry’s birthday, Crocworld is running a December raffle. For just R10, vistors can purchase a raffle ticket at the Crocworld Curio Shop and stand a chance to win a children’s activity hamper valued at R1,000, filled with toys, an activity book, and tasty treats.
The raffle draw will take place on 3 January 2025.
While at Crocworld, don’t miss the opportunity to check out the WildED Crocworld Activity Book, designed by South African children’s conservation book author Kayleigh Huysamen from Wild Kids Books SA, which is available for sale.
Visitors can also enjoy delicious meals and drinks while taking in the stunning sea view from Fish Eagle Café, based at Crocworld. The centre’s holiday programme includes daily animal demonstrations and feeding sessions, with exciting aerial zipline experiences offered at Jikaleza Outdoor Adventures.
