A couple was accosted by two knife-wielding suspects along Skhona Road in Bhambayi in a robbery attack which left the boyfriend deceased while the woman ran away to seek help, recently.
Phoenix SAPS communications officer, Captain L. Naidoo, said: “It is alleged that the deceased identified as Kwanele Vokoza, 22, was walking with his girlfriend along Skhona Road in Bhambayi when they were approached by two unknown men, who produced knives and demanded money and cellphones from the couple.”
Captain Naidoo said that the woman managed to run away to seek help from neighbours but heard her boyfriend screaming. “She noticed one of the suspects stabbing her boyfriend.
The suspects fled the scene on foot. The deceased was conveyed to the Phoenix Unit 10 Clinic by his brother and tragically he passed on while receiving medical help. The investigation to trace the perpetrators is still continuing,” said Captain Naidoo.
