Blooming bright through Spring

Spring is a season of growth and pupils at The Learning Centre (TLC) in Merebank are exploring that idea in more ways than one.

As part of their current learning activities, pupils are being introduced to practical lessons about money, plants, flowers and the natural world around them.

Spring
TLC pupils embrace Spring through lessons on growth, nature and everyday learning.

Through garden-based activities, pupils are learning how plants grow, what they need to thrive and how flowers and greenery change with the seasons. These lessons are also helping them understand broader ideas such as patience, responsibility and development.
At the same time, pupils are learning basic concepts around money, including saving, spending and making everyday choices.

While the subjects may seem different, they are all linked by one common theme, growth.
Whether it is watching a plant develop from the soil or learning how small amounts of money can grow over time, TLC pupils are discovering that progress often happens step by step.

This Spring, the pupils are learning that growth can take many forms, in the garden, in the classroom and in the way they understand the world around them.
