A fatal collision at the corner of Stewart Simelane Street and Argyle Road in Durban’s Central Business District (CBD) on Saturday claimed the life of a motorist and left seven others injured.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said:
“Paramedics arrived on scene to find chaos and carnage after a bakkie carrying passengers and a car collided. The bakkie rolled several times, ejecting most of its passengers onto the busy roadway. Additional ambulances and Advanced Life Support paramedics were immediately dispatched to assist.
“One of the drivers, a man believed to be in his fifties, sustained fatal injuries. Despite efforts, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared dead at the scene.
