Considering the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent unrest which wreaked havoc in Durban, a local security boss decided to donate generous grocery hampers to families in need in the Durban South precinct.

Spurred by his abiding love for humanity and a desire to spread goodwill and cheer to the less fortunate, PT Alarms head, Strini Govender, was determined to help families have a bright and satisfying start to the new year.

The grocery hampers laden with goodies touched the hearts of the recipients

“Scores of families, nominated by community members working on the ground, received grocery hampers bursting with goodies to help them step into the new year with full cupboards and content tummies. The PT team braved the rain and though drenched, forged ahead to ensure families received their New Year’s treats,” said PT Alarms spokesperson, Dhevan Govindasamy.

He said the families were ecstatic to receive the groceries which included necessities, treats and a six pack of milk. “Many of the elderly and breadwinners who lost their jobs due to the pandemic and unrest, were especially grateful for the gesture of goodwill. There was an outpouring of gratitude and a multitude of blessings bestowed on the PT Alarms management and team for the incredibly thoughtful deed.

PT Alarms was pleased to have helped enrich the lives of some people for the new year,” added Govindasamy.
