First-time father embraces joys of parenthood
Becoming a father for the first time is a life-changing experience, one filled with overwhelming love, newfound responsibilities, and unforgettable moments.
For Brenton Amil Naicker, holding his newborn, Asher Amil for the first time marked the beginning of a beautiful journey into fatherhood.
“Being a father means having a lifelong commitment and bond with a tiny human which has a part of you. Making sure that you are the best version of yourself and that you are present. Your child’s childhood is in your hands, it should be filled with love, care and lots of fun, of course. Becoming a dad changed my perspective of life. Excitement has a new meaning since Asher’s arrival, going out previously was fun and exciting but now taking him out and seeing him have a good time brings me all the joy. He has made life complete,” Naicker said.
When asked how he plans on celebrating his first Fathers Day, he said, it will be a day filled with good vibes, laughter and fine dining with his beautiful wife and baby boy.
Naicker’s advice for expecting fathers is for them to take in every moment with their baby.
“It is not an easy journey to navigate, trust yourself and know that you are doing your best. It is okay to make mistakes, you learn along the way. Be prepared to lose a lot of sleep and sing a lot. The values that I will pass to Asher is that he must chase his passion rather than wealth, wealth will come when you do something you are truly passionate about. Be respectful, honest and honour God always. Lastly, I will teach him how to fish, play pool and thunee,” Naicker said.
