Alfred Duma Local Municipality recently welcomed South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) provincial officials as they officiated and hosted a roadblock to launch the Transport Month Awareness Campaign programme with a roadblock along Helpmekaar Road and an awareness talk held at Illing Road.
The month of October was officially declared Transport Month by the Department of Transport in 2005. The municipality, this year, will join forces with SANTACO in hosting and launching the awareness programme to re-educate people about obeying the rules of the road. The launch was officiated by SANTACO Provincial officials together with Alfred Duma Local Municipality Speaker, Councillor Sithole, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Simelane, along with councillors, SAPS members from Ezkaheni and Ladysmith and Public Safety officials.
