
After 23 years of faithful service to the community, the detective branch commander of the South African Police Service in Verulam, Joyce Patience Zanele Ndlovu, has been promoted to the rank of brigadier and will be the provincial commander of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in KwaZulu-Natal.
With over 20 years of experience, Brigadier Ndlovu is a well-seasoned detective and has vast knowledge in the discipline of FCS. The communications officer for Verulam SAPS, Captain Henry Kisten, extended his praise to the newly-minted head of the unit. “Brigadier Ndlovu has always led from the front, working tirelessly during suspect raid operations to ensure all wanted suspects and dangerous criminals were behind bars,” Capt Kisten said. Brig Ndlovu took up her promotional post on Monday, 1 November, at the provincial office and is looking forward to her new challenges. Brigadier Ndlovu gave her thanks to God and all members at Verulam SAPS for supporting her during her time there. Verulam Station Commander, Brigadier Dludla, congratulated Brig Ndlovu on her promotion and said that it was a well-deserved promotion. “She has done the station proud, we wish her well in her new challenges and ventures.”
