Two people were tragically killed in a truck collision along the Van Reenen’s Pass, N3 on Wednesday evening, 23 June. Emer-G-Med responded to the scene of the crash, that occurred in the northbound carriageway.
A heavy motor- vehicle crashed into the back of truck, causing the truck driver to lose control of the vehicle which veered off the roadway, crashing into a road barrier. The truck driver and one man were declared dead on the scene of the crash. It is reported that the man had been found pinned between the two wrecks. Reports suggest that man had been ‘surfing’ the truck at the time of the collision.
Van Reenen Pass SAPS will be investigating a case of culpable homicide. The deceased has not been officially identified by police.
