Cato Manor police are investigating an inquest after skeletal remains of a human body were found on Russel Mngomezulu Road in Ridgeview on 16 April.
The gruesome discovery was made by residents who immediately called the police. Cato Manor SAPS communications officer, Captain C. A. Sibiya, said the body had decomposed and only skeletal remains were on-site. “The person had been wearing pants and a blue t-shirt. The skeleton remains will be sent to forensics for DNA in order to identify the victim and the cause of death,” said Capt Sibiya. He has appealed to residents who are missing family members or friends to contact the station’s Detective Captain Zondo on 071-055-1998.
