The family of murdered Shallcross brothers, Krean and Magendhren Naidu is still reeling in shock after they were targeted and gunned down last November at a car wash on Himalaya Drive.
At the time, Captain Nqobile Gwala, police spokesperson said that charges of murder were opened at the Chatsworth Police Station for investigation. “On 24 November at 5pm, Chatsworth police received a complaint of a shooting at Himalaya Drive, Shallcross and proceeded to the scene.
“On arrival they found two males with gunshot wounds to the head, a 39-year-old victim was declared dead on the crime scene and the second victim, 44, was taken to hospital for medical attention where he later died. It is alleged that the two victims were attacked by two unknown suspects who opened fire wounding them on the head. The suspects fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.”
The incident has since been handed over to HAWKS for investigation. The family spokesperson, whose identity is known to the paper, emphasised that the brothers’ shooting was not drug related. “Their shooting was in no way related to any drug activities. It has been four months but we are still unable to come to terms with their untimely deaths.”
The relative described Krean and Magendhren as “wonderful sons and brothers who had good hearts”. “They were both the most humble people I knew and they were such loving and caring souls. We can only describe them as peace-loving human beings and cannot understand who would want to do this act of such a senseless killing,” they said.
After months of waiting for their killers to be caught and brought to book, the family says they are still living in agony at not knowing whether they will eventually get justice for the brothers. The family confirmed that they are yet to receive an update on the investigation.
