Police in Bayview are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man who was found dead on the side of Higginson Highway on Wednesday evening.
According to SAPS Bayview, officers responded to a complaint at about 8pm on Thursday, 7 May after reports of a person lying near the traffic lights along Higginson Highway.
On arrival, police found the body of an African man believed to be between 35 and 40 years old. He was wearing a green jersey, a yellow and blue T-shirt, and blue tracksuit pants.
The man was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police are urging anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the deceased, or who may have witnessed anything relating to the injuries sustained by the man, to come forward.
