One person was killed in a suspected targeted shooting in Furnham, Phoenix, on Monday afternoon, 17 August.
KZN VIP Emergency Medical and Security teams were dispatched to the scene after residents reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.
KZN VIP spokesperson Gareth Naidoo said emergency teams arrived to find a significant crime scene. “Our teams found multiple spent cartridges scattered along approximately 150 to 200 metres of roadway. The driver was located inside the vehicle and unfortunately, showed no signs of life. He was declared deceased at the scene,” said Naidoo.
“According to information received at the scene, two African male suspects were allegedly seen fleeing from the vehicle towards Workingham shortly after the shooting. The motive for the shooting is not yet known, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are expected to form part of a SAPS investigation,” Naidoo added.
