Spokesperson for KZNVIP Ambulance, Gareth Naidoo said, “Medics assessed the casualties on scene and found that the woman showed no signs of life. A second casualty was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the busy roadway, but miraculously crawled to safety with serious injuries. Medics stabilised the critically injured patient before transporting her to a medical facility.”

He urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly when approaching emergency scenes. “Motorists are urged to please slow down when noticing the amber lights of breakdown vehicles,” Naidoo added, highlighting that emergency services personnel were nearly struck by speeding vehicles multiple times while attending to the accident.
