Non-profit organisation, Tiny Steps Care team braved inclement weather conditions as they delivered much needed food hampers to the community of Molweni, following a request from a resident last week.
Naadia Sheik Hameed, founder of Tiny Steps together with the volunteers acted on the request and collected baby hampers, fresh vegetables, sanitary packs, beanies, warm clothing and baby formula to distribute in the community. Sheik Hameed said this distribution was one of the closest to her heart as she could assist the many child headed families in the area. “The mothers and grandmothers (gogos) were so humbled and grateful. The volunteers and the community braved the rain and stood in queues for their hampers. We managed to distribute 40 hampers to the community,” she added. Another handover was held in Shongweni with non-profit organisation, Gift of the Givers where the team distributed 350 hampers.
