Excitement filled the grounds of ML Sultan Primary School as pupils took part in a fun-filled Easter programme ahead of the school holidays, celebrating a season marked by joy, reflection and hope.

Two enthusiastic pupils, fondly known as the “Easter Hunters”, Evaan Sarjoo and Zenande Mbonani, struck gold during a lively Easter egg treasure hunt at the school. Pupils and teachers alike look forward to celebrating Easter alongside Christians across the country and the world.

As Christians prepare to mark this important occasion, Easter remains a time of deep reflection, renewal and hope. It commemorates the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of humanity, and celebrates His resurrection, which brings the promise of new life.

Minister Gerhard de Lange of the NG Church said Easter encourages believers to reflect on their faith and relationship with Christ. “Easter is a time of reflection and strengthening of hope. We are reminded that Jesus died for our sins, and we rejoice in the hope we have through His resurrection and victory over death,” he said.

“Even where Christians face persecution, Christ remains our hope and strength — in times of joy and in times of sorrow,” he said, wishing the community a peaceful celebration. “May you and your loved ones have a blessed Easter filled with hope and renewal.”

The Ladysmith Herald extends its best wishes to all our Christian readers, wishing you a blessed and joyful Easter.
