Croftdene family seeks answers after 25-year-old man found dead in Wentworth

A Croftdene family is mourning the death of 25-year-old Ethan Cole Krishna, whose body was found in Wentworth a day after he was reported missing.

Krishna was last seen by his aunt at about 1pm on Tuesday, 29 September, in the vicinity of South Coast Road, Durban.

According to information provided by Renegades Search and Rescue, a passer-by discovered his body in Wentworth on the morning of Wednesday, 30 September.
Renegades Search and Rescue spokesperson Dawn Gounden, speaking to the Merebank and Chatsworth Tabloid, described Krishna as a young man who was well known among his peers and had a strong passion for soccer.

“He played soccer and had many friends,” Gounden said.

Krishna was from Croftdene and attended Sunbeam Primary School before matriculating at Newhaven Secondary School. He also played for Croftdene Crusaders soccer club.

A missing-person notice issued by Renegades Search and Rescue stated that Krishna was wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans and white takkies when he was last seen.

The family has asked members of the public not to interfere with the investigation and to allow police to conduct their enquiries.

SAPS was approached for comment on the circumstances surrounding Krishna’s death, including whether the matter is being investigated as murder and which police station is handling the investigation. Police were also asked to confirm whether a case or inquest number had been registered.

Police were yet to provide a comment at the time of print.
