Annually celebrated on the third Sunday of June, Father’s Day celebrates the importance of fatherhood and the role men play in their children’s lives.
Sunny Perumal, 86, is retired and a proud father of four. He said: “Father’s Day means the joy of being surrounded by my children and grandchildren and knowing that they all turned out to be good decent people.”
Sholain Perumal, his daughter and CEO of Gold Bar, said that Father’s Day means showing gratitude, appreciation and love to her dad who has always been there for her and her siblings. “He shows us, leading by example, every day to be humble in whatever we do. My dad has always pushed me to excel at everything I did from my early school days. He encouraged excellence while keeping me grounded and humble and taught me to see the good in people. He taught me to always help those around us. He is the reason I am the person I am today and has always lead by example. He was able to raise for children whilst working as a manager at a BP service station.
Sholain said her dad keeps busy by fetching his grandchildren from school and play with them daily. Additionally, he is very passionate about taking care of his birds, which has become his hobby.
