Adele Hayward MacDonald gives a supportive power jump before competing in the Ladysmith Women’s Forum and Ladysmith Hospice Association fun walk, run and cycle, which was held on Saturday, 29 October, at the Ladysmith Indoor Sports Stadium.
The event was held to raise funds for cancer patients and their families. Young, small and old all gathered to walk, run and cycle for a worthy cause. Emnambithi Striders, Lenmed La Verna Hospital and Lancet Laboratories, with the support of Sharaj Ambulance Services, coordinated the fun run, walk and cycle event which included a variety of stalls, mainly consisting of home businesses, a kiddies zone, quad bikes and a food court. The actual race started off with a warm-up from Melody Fitness and once warmed up, runners, walkers and cyclists went off along the route. Awareness surrounding bone marrow transplants was created on the day along with free blood sugar and pressure tests which were done by the Ladysmith Hospice Association and Lancet Laboratories. The day was enjoyed by all who had supported the event.
