A business robbery case is under investigation at Amanzimtoti SAPS after a gang of armed robbers held up a store at a mall in Amanzimtoti, on Friday.
Amanzimtoti SAPS communications officer, Captain Charlene Van Der Spuy, said: “It is alleged that on 18 June at 9.45, a group of around 10 males entered the store. One of them was pushing a trolley filled with empty plastic bags. They went straight to the cosmetics department and pointed the employees with firearms. Suspects demanded the cellphones of the employees and continued filling the trolley with perfumes from the shelves. The suspects then left the store.
The estimated value of items taken is R350, 000. No one was injured and no shots were fired.”
