The team aims to raise up a generation of readers who will ultimately become the leaders of the country

Despite the difficulties brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, The Learn Project continues to encourage young children to read.

CEO and founder of the organisation, Ros Toerien, said every day brings new opportunity for The Learn Project and a chance for the organisation to make a noticeable difference to schools and children in need. “With challenges come opportunities and we choose to be the change we wish to see in the world, not just for a once-off occasion, but for the long run. That is when real change happens. A book holds the key to unlocking the mind that is reading it, it takes a child on great adventures, to explore and travel distant lands and experience other cultures and countries. A book brings joy, awakens the imagination and creates and develops empathy in the reader. Books empower children and teachers and give the gift of knowledge,” she said.
