Following the recent floods that left roads across the city obstructed by fallen trees and debris, the Greenwood Park WeFeedSA team stepped in to restore cleanliness and order to affected areas, including Rosary Road.

According to the organisation’s Strategic Implementation Partner (SIP), Danusha Makan-Maharaj, the clean-up initiative has played a vital role in preventing further flooding and damage. “We sincerely thank the team for their dedication, swift response, and ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe, clean, and resilient,” she said.

Makan-Maharaj emphasised that the initiative extended beyond flood-related damage. “We have observed a growing decline in our community due to challenges such as illegal dumping, littering, and the poor maintenance of municipal verges and public spaces,” she explained. “This effort has brought us together around a shared vision to restore Greenwood Park to its former glory—creating spaces that reflect the warmth and beauty our community is known for.”

She further noted that illegal dumping has worsened due to the increasing number of abandoned properties in the area.

“The primary goal is to instil a sense of civic pride among all residents, especially the youth. Clean spaces contribute to healthier environments. It is no longer just about raising awareness—it is about putting these principles into action,” she added.

Through unity, dedication, and a shared commitment, the organisation continues to work towards maintaining clean, safe, and dignified streets in Greenwood Park.
