As the holy month of fasting draws to a close, a group of Muslim youth have shared warm Eid wishes with the community. The month-long fast of Ramadan is expected end on Friday, 20 March (depending on the sighting of the moon), when Muslims will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, a special occasion that marks the end of the fasting period.

Zaara Soobrathie, Bibi Ayesha Rehan, Nadhim Mahomed, Alliyah Lehry, Ziyan Soobrathie, Aasmaa Mahomed, Jawhara Khan and Yara Govinder said they were looking forward to celebrating the day with family and friends.
They said that Eid was a joyful time when loved ones gather to share meals, exchange greetings and celebrate together after a month of fasting and reflection. “This is a time when friends and family gather to celebrate the end of fasting and to wish everyone a blessed Eid Mubarak,” they said.
