Isipingo’s non-profit organisation, Seva Bhakti Foundation (SBF) has resumed its annual school support initiatives, providing vital assistance to children from underprivileged communities. This year, the organisation has focused on its stationery and school lunch drives, ensuring that pupils are prepared and nourished for the school year ahead.
The stationery drive aims to support children who have not received basic supplies from their schools. Volunteers have been busy packing and distributing notebooks, pens, and other essential items to children whose families cannot afford these necessities. The initiative ensures that pupils have the tools they need to participate fully in their education.
In addition to stationery, SBF has resumed its school lunch programme, delivering nutritious meals to over 150 children across three Isipingo schools. For many of these pupils, the school-provided meal may be the only proper food they receive in a day. The initiative not only addresses hunger but also supports learning, concentration, and overall well-being.

“Ensuring that children are fed and equipped for school is essential. A hungry child cannot learn, and a lack of basic supplies can hold back a child’s education,” said Mandy Govender, founder of SBF.
While the organisation is based in Isipingo, its outreach extends to surrounding communities, providing support wherever it is needed. The community is encouraged to assist, whether through sponsoring lunch items, donating stationery, or volunteering their time. Individuals can also celebrate milestones or honour loved ones by sponsoring school meals, making a direct impact on children’s lives.
SBF continues to operate year-round, helping families whenever the need arises. For more information on how to contribute or get involved, contact 060 505 8777.
