DJs ready to rock Ladysmith

Ladysmith is abuzz with anticipation as an internationally acclaimed music producer and performer, Deejay Nivaadh Singh, as he prepares to set the stage alight at the Indoor Sports Complex on 8 August.

The tour stop, part of Singh’s nationwide showcase, promises a spectacular night of high-energy music, cutting-edge production, and vibrant Bollywood beats all delivered by one of South Africa’s most celebrated DJs.

Joning singh are deejay’s Sam and Akshay, who both hail from Ladysmith. DJ Sam, an open-format specialist with a strong local following and is known for his dynamic sets and production prowess, while rising talent DJ Akshay, recently shortlisted for a major Durban event. Both disc spinners bring youthful energy and a growing fan base to the lineup.

Born Nivaadh Jeeth Singh, 38, in Richards Bay, the artiste has spent more than 18 years carving out an extraordinary dual career in both mechanical engineering and the entertainment industry. What began in 2006 with a makeshift drum set crafted from cardboard boxes and pencils soon evolved into a passion for DJing using little more than two DVD players and a second-hand mixer bought for R40. Today, Singh is a household name among Bollywood music lovers, not only in South Africa but around the globe.

His online music livestream, “For The Love Of Music” (#FTLOM), is one of the country’s biggest digital music platforms, with over 450 episodes reaching audiences in 56 countries. The #FTLOM brand has since expanded into community support initiatives like #FTLOM Outreach, which uplifts local communities, religious groups, orphanages, and animal shelters. The accompanying #FTLOM On Air podcast features conversations with musical icons and commentary on industry trends.

Singh’s achievements speak volumes, he has been interviewed by eNCA, praised by international artists like Chandana Dixit, Vidya Vox, and Jay Sean, and performed in Auckland, New Zealand earlier this year. His hit singles, including “Say Goodbye” and “Whoopah”, continue to dominate streaming charts.

Despite his fame, Singh remains deeply grounded. He attributes his journey to the unwavering support of his wife Fiona Khan, family, friends, loyal #FTLOM fans, and his faith.

The Ladysmith concert, produced by Big Four Events, promises more than just a performance, itis a celebration of musical excellence and community pride. Event organiser Emmo Govender confirmed that the show will also spotlight two of Ladysmith’s finest DJs.
