Young South Africans with a passion for cultural studies now have the chance to study in India through a fully funded scholarship programme.
The Consulate General of India in Durban, in partnership with ward 73 councillor Daniel Logan Mea, has announced the availability of scholarships for South African students to pursue studies in India. The scholarships are offered under the ‘ICCR Lata Mangeshkar Dance and Music Scholarship’ programme for the academic year 2025–2026.
The scholarship is aimed at students who wish to study Indian cultural subjects, including dance, music, theatre, performing arts, Indian languages, and cuisine. The scholarship is funded by the Government of India and includes return airfare, visa fees, hostel accommodation, and a monthly stipend.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years for undergraduate studies, and not older than 50 years for PhD programmes, as of 1 July.
