UMhlanga powerhouse, Senta Seele’s passion for serving and making a difference in the world has received a major boost following her appointment as marketing and donor liaison of the Robin Hood Foundation.
Seele is no stranger to the Robin Hood Foundation, having supported their cause in many different ways since 2014.
“I have volunteered at many different Robin Hood Foundation projects for over 10 years. My students and I have performed at their events and at their Bless a Granny visits, we have done many collections for them as a dance studio too. I have also been their MC at their Mahala Teas and Wine tasting evenings, and assisted with many other projects over the years. In 2020 and 2021 I was the Chairlady of KZN Women in Business, and Robin Hood foundation were voted in by our members as our official charity for 2021.
“This meant that I got to work very closely with them and during the KZN riots, especially, I was taken right into the heart of Robin Hood – and what a big and beautiful heart it is! I think that that experience cemented my love and commitment to Robin Hood,” she recounted.
Naming the Bless a Granny Teas as her most beloved and memorable initiative, Seele now gets to add her own unique razzle dazzle to her new position.
As the ex chairperson of KZN Women in Business, Seele is more than prepared for the journey ahead of her. “I believe in the power of networking and connections, and in being someone that people can trust, and my time as chairlady of KZN Women in Business has certainly helped me form many special and valuable connections. I believe in always acting from a space of kindness. I feel this is a massive opportunity to make more of an impact in our community, and I look forward to spreading love, light, kindness and happiness.”
She added that at the “heart” of the foundation are the volunteers, or “vollies” as they are affectionately dubbed.
“None of the good work that is undertaken is possible without their support. They work hard, many projects require physically being on their feet for hours and they always do it with big smiles on their faces. I also love how the Robin Hood Foundation spreads the love and if we receive an abundance of donations they will be shared with other NPOs too. There is a wide range of projects and ways to help that can suit any budget. From donating your pre-loved clothing, up to generous corporate donations, there is a way for everyone to help.”
