
It was entertainment galore at the inaugural KZN Cultural and Heritage Experience held at Ugu District in South Coast from Friday, 4 March till 6 March.
Some of the big acts that kept the crowd entertained include award winning musicians Holly Rey, Khuzani Mpungose, Kelly Khumalo, Duncan, Naima Kay and Mondli Ngcobo among others. The KZN Department of Arts and Culture was the key driver of this three day event that took place at Ugu Sports and Leisure and St Michaels Beach. Artists and crafters across the province participated in this initiative to showcase their talents and promote their cultural festivities. Arts,Culture,Sport and Recreation MEC, Hlengiwe Mavimbela said, “The KwaZulu-Natal Cultural and Heritage Experience is a first of it’s kind festival that featured fashion, film, literature exhibitions, poetry and live performances from some of KZN’s top artists.We are quite excited to successfully host the inaugural KZN Cultural and Heritage Experience. “Our goal was to ensure that we showcase as many artists from across genres as possible.The entire festival had over 100 artists over the three days.It was important for us to make sure the crafters especially those from Ugu District get an opportunity to benefit from the event while exposing some of their work to patrons who visited the event.”
