A group of open-water swimmers from North Beach who go by the name Porpoise Pod, successfully completed the Midmar Mile race on Saturday.
The group’s spokesperson, Ramesh Hargovan Porpoise, said they had six swimmers crossing the Midmar Dam at the highest capacity.
He added that between the members combined, they have completed 62 Miles over the years. “The average age of our members is 55 years old and we swim at 5.30am daily at South Beach to keep fit,” he said.
