In a time when lasting love stories are rare, Robin and Vasie Reddy’s marriage stands as a beautiful inspiration. The Isipingo-based couple recently celebrated their golden anniversary surrounded by their loved ones.
Recalling how their journey began, Robin said that their elders introduced them and from that simple meeting, their love blossomed into a bond that has only grown stronger with time.
The secret to their five-decade-long union lies in their shared values.
He said: “Our marriage is all about trust, loyalty, and respect, that is why we’re here 50 years later. Try to communicate, understand each other, and don’t fight every day. Decisions must be made together, and that’s how you move forward.”
Their golden anniversary was celebrated with the people they cherish most.
“We were celebrated by our loving family.We spent the day reminiscing on our journey, and they surprised us with a beautiful cake-cutting. We couldn’t have spent it any other way.” The couple are proud parents of two children and two loving grandchildren.
When asked what they admire most about each other, Robin’s face lit up when he said: “She doesn’t get angry in a hurry and always has time to help people.”
Vasie added on: “He is hands-on, loves doing things around the house, and I think he loves my cooking, so I can carry on for another 50 years.”
