Youngsters graduate to hard ball cricket


The Chatsworth Sporting Junior Academy that commenced last year is starting to bear the fruits with the youngsters now being selected to represent the Chatsworth Sporting Under 11 team.

The selected team will play club matches on Sunday mornings. “The U9 Academy has grown in leaps and bounds with the youngsters putting in the hard yards every Saturday at the Chatsworth Oval. The players have been coached the correct techniques from the basics in the disciplines of batting, bowling and fielding,”said Chatsworth Sporting president, Jason Sathiaseelan.

The process is ongoing and as the players develop their skill sets, they will graduate to club cricket. Currently, Sporting has many participants comprising of boys and girls who are coached by CSA accredited coaches Jason Sathiaseelan, Vella Chetty, Leo Sathiaseelan, Fayhaaz Rahiman and Breyton Sathiaseelan. “The enjoyment factor has been the key in developing these players who are ever willing to learn. The growth of some players has been overwhelming and the foundations are being laid for a successful transition to hard ball cricket,” added Sathiaseelan.
