Guided by the Municipal Thuma Mina Programme the council has committed eigh high mast lights which will be erected in the area of Manqatheni, Redhill, Esikhaleni and Ematafuleni.

The lights will be allocated accordingly in the areas. Speaking at the community meeting, Councillor Thuli Hadebe said that the installation of these lights began on 1 November and will finish in June and that a total of 16 jobs will be created. This development comes at a cost of R2million.

The community welcomed the development and were happy that the lights will bring a decrease in high rate of crime that is committed in the areas during the evenings. The lights will create better visibility in the evenings.
