Some of the biggest names in KZN comedy will come together for the latest edition of the Chatsworth Mixed Masala Comedy Show taking place at the Rajput Hall on 10 November, at 8pm.
The hilarious star-studded line-up features comic heavyweights Bash
with Tash, Masood Boomgaard, Neil Green, Jem Atkins Felicia Pillay and Shechem Pillay. The one-night-only festival of funny is an unmissable event that is sure to have audience members rolling in the aisles with laughter.
Bash with Tash, whose real name is Natashia Portrag, shot to fame in December 2016 when she spontaneously uploaded a comic commentary by herself on Facebook which soared to hundreds of thousands of views.
Subsequent videos only heightened her popularity and now she has legions of fans locally and abroad in places like Australia where she toured in March. Bash with Tash is best known for her incredible ability to improvise on stage and crowd interaction. Her spontaneity ensures that no two shows are the same.
Thinking man’s comedian, Neil Green, is a highlight of the show. The ECR
jock will perform his major show in Chatsworth in years and is sure to
thrill fans with his wild, out of the box style of comedy that has earned the respect of his peers including Riaad Moosa, Marc Lottering and others.
The “Single Dad”, Jem Atkins, also makes Chatsworth debut, promising loads of gags on being a single parent, drawing on the joys of raising a young man.
He is known for his hilarious quips on dating.Another highlight of the night is sure to be Masood Boomgaard, fresh from his recent tours of Australia, Dubai and the UK. Boomgaard is best known for his unique comedic take on current affairs and trends, tackling a variety of topics from politics and sport to the economy and relationships. He often also uses the stage to reflect on his childhood and experiences growing up in a mixed race family.
Boomgaard has performed with some of the best in the business across the country and has a few solo shows under his belt. His most recent, “Joker”, has been released on DVD. He also recently appeared on Comedy Central. He recently performed his show “African Indian” on London’s West End and received rave reviews.
