The KwaZulu-Natal police department has confirmed that officers have found the body of 68-year-old paraplegic Chatsworth resident, Thanalatchmee Durgan, who went missing, along with her son, six days ago.

On Monday, 3 December, members of the Police Search and Rescue Unit discovered the body of Durgan floating in the dam at the Silverglen Nature Reserve. Communications officer of the eThekwini Inner South cluster, Cpt Cheryl Pillay said, “Durgan’s son, Sagren Pillay is still unaccounted for. Officers have intensified their investigations and search for the 46 year-old.”

Daughter, Kogie Reddy said she had not heard from her brother and mother since last Thursday. A case of murder is being investigated at the Chatsworth SAPS.
