Authorities and relevant personnel at the site where the body was discovered

Murder investigations are underway after the bloodied body of a man (31) was discovered at Stanmore Park in Grove-end this morning. It is alleged that he was beaten to death with a baseball bat that was found at the scene.
Phoenix SAPS communications officer, Cpt L Naidoo, said, “On Monday at about 6:30am, members of SAPS Phoenix responded to a complainant from Radio Control of a dead body at Stanmore Park, Grove End Phoenix.

Members found the deceased with injuries to his head and face. Next to the body of the deceased was a broken blood-stained baseball bat which was seized.

Members of the Murder unit followed up with investigations and found the identity of the deceased. It is alleged by the family of the 31-year-old deceased that he (the deceased) had left home on Sunday at 7:30pm to visit a friend and did not return home.”

A case of Murder is being investigated. No arrest have been made as the suspects are unknown at this stage.
