Liam Wyndham Nortjie is still missing. Now four-years-old,
the little boy was reported missing on 21 November. A suspect was arrested in Ladysmith, and has since been incarcerated in Harrismith.

The SAPS search and rescue units from Ladysmith, Harrismith and Pietermaritzburg gathered in town in August after claims that Liam was seen in Ladysmith.

According to a specialist private investigator into serious violent and economic crimes, Mike Bolhuis, it is believed that Liam was sold by the suspect to someone or a family possibly in Ladysmith. However, he could be in either Boksburg, Benoni, Grabouw, Midlands or Ladysmith. Police spent almost a week in Ladysmith searching for the toddler who was allegedly kidnapped by the suspect. Despite following up on leads, Liam was not found. A local business assisted in the search by having pamphlets distributed. At the time of his disappearance, Liam’s parents had become estranged. His father was living in Kestell in the Free State, while his mother lived in Harrismith. Liam lived with his father while he visited his mother over the weekends.

Bolhuis said: “The possibility of murder is not excluded. We suspect family and/or friends involved in his disappearance. A reward will be offered to positive information leading to the retrieval of Liam.” If anyone has any information that can help in finding Liam, call SAPS or Bolhuis on
